River in Jura

Our campsite is ideally situated on a passage of the Echappée Jurassienne, the famous route between Dole and the Haut-Jura Regional Nature Park. This route, which can be followed on foot or by bicycle, will offer you the chance to discover the varied exceptional landscapes for which this region is famous: dense forests, superb lakes, vineyards, waterfalls, mountains, and more. As you make your way along these charming paths, treat yourself to a well-deserved break at the Domaine de l'Epinette. Relaxation and tranquillity guaranteed!

The Domaine de l'Epinette's surroundings are also ideal for adventures and outings in the great outdoors. The famous Jura lakes are well worth a visit and offer the chance to enjoy a family walk: Lake Chalain, Lake Rousses, Lake Vouglans are all outstanding natural sites which will delight you. You will be able to try your hand at a large variety of water sports: kayak, fishing, pedal boats, etc.

Lake Chalain

Nature lovers, Lake Chalain, a natural glacial lake, offers the perfect play area for outdoor activities. Its excellent quality water is ideal for bathing and water sports.

Set out to discover the Hérisson Waterfalls,  during pleasant walks in the heart of nature: covering about 3 km, the Hérisson Stream is scattered with 31 imposing waterfalls. They form a listed natural site and provide the ideal setting for your excursions in the heart of the Jura countryside, just 15 kilometres from the Domaine de l'Epinette. Visit the Maison des Cascades and discover the history of this ancient natural site and its secrets: fun activities are available for children.

Considered to be one of the most beautiful villages in France, Baume-les-Messieurs reveals its unique charms. This Jura village enjoys a privileged location at the centre of a cirque, surrounded by cliffs, and is about 20 minutes from the Domaine de l'Epinette: visit its caves, the largest in Jura, and admire the impressive waterfall at the bottom of the steephead valley.

The Imperial abbey of Baume-les-Messieurs , dating from the 9th century and built in a Romanesque style, is located in the steephead valley of Baume-les-Messieurs and is one of the major historical sites of Jura: this Romanesque Benedictine abbey is a listed monument. Do not miss a visit and discover this building which inspired the creation of the famous Cluny abbey in Burgundy.

Just 25 minutes from the Domaine de l'Epinette, treat yourself to an outing to Lons-le-Saunier. Visit the Laughing Cow Museum, established on the site of the original factory where the famous cheese was made, which welcomes young and old in an entertaining universe and recounts the story of the Bel brand, which comes from the town. Also, do not miss the Museum of Fine Arts and Archaeology, on Place Philibert de Chalon, which presents a large collection of sculptures and paintings. Also, be amazed by the Lédonia spa and the Edouard Guenon spa park, listed historic monuments, which bear witness to the spa tradition in Lons-le-Saunier. They hold three salt water springs renowned for their therapeutic virtues.

Take advantage of your stay in Jura to discover and taste the wines of this region which has seven AO (designation of origin), including Côte-du-Jura, Arbois, Château-Chalon, etc. The vineyards of Jura cover almost 80 km and the region produces some unique wines, such as vin jaune, vin de paille and Macvin du Jura. Their specific vinification methods give them flavours and tastes that you will not find anywhere else!
