The tourist information office of Clairvaux-les-Lacs is located at the centre of the market town. Clairvaux-les-Lacs is a French municipal district, located in the department of the Jura and the Franche-Comté region. It is the head of the Community of Lake Country towns. There is a population of about 1,500. This town is part of the “lakes and little mountain” country, that stretches from Marigny to Thoirette, through Clairvaux-les-Lacs, Orgelet, Arinthod and Saint-Julien sur Suran. Within the district, there are both the Clairvaux lakes, the Great lake (surface area: 64 hectares) and the Little lake (surface area: 21 hectares). A significant tourist centre has developed since the 1950s around the Great lake of Clairvaux-les-Lacs. In the lake country, an untouched and easily accessible countryside awaits you. There are many sites to be explored: lakes, falls, rivers, grottos, enclosed valleys, viewpoints...
The site of the 7 lakes and the Herisson falls is listed as a “great natural site”.

The canton of Clairvaux-les-Lacs has a rich Neolithic heritage represented by many lakeside towns located on the northern side of the Great Lake of Clairvaux and on lake Chalain (sites with unauthorised public access). Many other sites and monuments can be visited: the church, the Saint-Roch chapel, the Parterre walk, the grotto of the Grande Cave, etc.…
